On July 4, 2011 after the the Plymouth Michigan 4th of July Parade a dedication ceremony was held at the 1st Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was performed in memory of Titus Vespation Hoisington. Mr. Hoisington was originally from Connecticut and served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He was born on June 8, 1762 and volunteered to serve with his brothers in 1776; Titus was fourteen years old. He was discharged as a Private in 1783 at the age of 21, he had served our country for seven years. When the war ended and after being discharged he traveled from Connecticut to Michigan searching for work. In the process he married and had sons who were eventually property owners in Michigan. Mr. Hoisington died a poor man without a marker for his grave on May 21, 1841. Recently Mr. Garry Packard shouldered the task of researching the life of Mr. Hoisington. He was aided by John Pappas, Jacqueline Kenyon, Wendy Harless, Mike Roberts, Patti Glasgow and Peter Glasgow in the effort to honor the life of Titus Vespation Hoisington with a Memorial Marker as requested by Mr. Hoisington's descendants. Mr. John Pappas led the Memorial Group and coordinated the dedication ceremony at the 1st Presbyterian Church located on Church Street in Plymouth Michigan.

Mr. Mike Roberts led the ceremony. Mike is a Hoisington descendant by marriage. The Mayor of Plymouth Mr. Dan Dwyer spoke briefly along with DAR member Patti Glasgow and Dennis Bielskis representing VFW Post 6695 of Plymouth and VVA Plymouth/Canton Chapter 528. The Plymouth Michigan Fife and Drum Corps set the tone and dated the ceremony with music and a ceremonial march ending with a sword salute. The VVA Chapter 528's Color Guard provided Private Titus Vespatian Hoisinton with an Honor Valley and Taps to honor his life, his service and youthful dedication by finally receiving "Full Military Honors".
