VVA Chapter 528 takes part in this yearly event. Thanks to Plymouth Mayor Emeritus Phil Pursell, who by the way is the owner of Mainstreet Auto Wash, the Chapter takes part in probably our single day most profitable event. We had a very good day of washing cars 165 cars. Thanks, also to Ted Enright for taking all of the photos on May 16, 2010. The following letter was published in the Plymouth Observer:

May 23,2010
Dear Mr. Pursell,
On behalf of the Membership of Plymouth-Canton Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 528, I want to express our thanks once again for donating the use of your facility (Main Street Carwash-Main St., Plymouth) on Sunday, May 16, 2010. The proceeds, $1378.69, from this fundraiser will be used toward Chapter projects in 2010 and beyond, e.g., defraying the cost of Chapter scholarships, totaling $1500, the 15th Annual Children's Fishing Derby held in Hines Park in May, the Michigan Veterans Foundation in downtown Detroit plus contributions to other worthwhile projects of Veterans' groups and civic organizations.
It is always a pleasure to be associated with an individual such as yourself, not for your generosity alone, but for your community concern. Many a business owner would brag about being community-minded, but very few would sacrifice a day's receipts to make such a point.
Thank you again for your kindness, generosity and friendship to the Vietnam Veterans of Chapter 528 and to the Plymouth community.
