Chapter Raffle Congratulations go to Bob Hallmark as our latest raffle winner. Bob joined our chapter at the beginning of the year so his winning a life membership comes as a extra nice Christmas gift since his renewal was do in a month. There will be another drawing in 3 Š 4 months. Remember the only way you can be entered into the drawing for a life membership is by attending the monthly meeting and putting your name in the sign-in log. The more meetings you attend the greater your chances of winning.

They are on display behind the building and sales will start the day after Thanksgiving. If you are interested come early to get the best selection.

After the ceremony everyone is invited to the VFW for a bowl of chili. As they did last year ApplebeeÕs Restaurant will serve free meals to veterans on Veterans Day. This offer is good all day. You must provide proof (ID card) to receive the free meal. Golden Corral will also be serving free meals on Monday, November 16 starting at 5:00 pm. Golden Corral has been doing this for 9 years and it is extremely popular event. Many chapter members have attended in the past. Hope to see you there.
Color Guard: The color guard had 1 funeral service this past month. We provided an honor volley and TAPS for a WWII and Korean War vet. The color guard will be at the Plymouth memorial service on Veterans Day. We have had requests for us to visit retirement homes in Plymouth, Redford and Westland on and around Veterans Day. Finally we have been invited to a Veterans Day Thank You Service and Dinner at Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church on November 15. This is Bill Boudreau's church and he says all are welcome to attend. POW/MIA T-shirts. I have 2 XL POW/MIA t-shirts left and will have them at the next meeting. They are $10 each and this will be the last time they are available.
Life Membership: Those who pay their dues annually might want to consider a life membership. As we advance in years the cost goes down. Monthly payment plans are also available. If you are between the ages of 60 and 65 the cost is only $175. This is a good bargain considering the VFW charges $290 and the American Legion a whopping $839 for the same age group. If you are over 65 the cost is only $150. Currently we have 85 individual and 11 associates who are life members. If you have a life membership then you won't have the hassle of remembering when your dues are due or seeing your name in the newsletter as being delinquent when you forget to pay. Just something you might want to consider.
