"Never Again Will One Generation Of Veterans Abandon Another"

North Wall Riders Association with the help of our Chapter joined for the Annual Run To The North Wall. The purpose was to honor the Canadians that served with the U.S. Military during the Vietnam War. Staging takes place at 9:30 A.M. at R.C.L. BR. 594-3920 Huron Church Line Rd. Windsor, Ontario.

On July 2, 1995 the dream of three men realized fruition. The men were
Ed Johnson, Ric Gidner and Chris Reynolds and their dream was was a memorial honoring Canadians that paid the ultimate price volunteering to serve with American troops in Vietnam. The dream originated in the imagination of Ed Johnson and Ric Gidner and their heartfelt admiration for the Canadians that sacrificed their lives was the driving force to honor them. Ed was also a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Army with the 2nd 47th Mechanized Infantry 9th Division. Ric served with the United States Marine Corps. The memorial is called the Canadian Vietnam Veterans Memorial but is affectionately referred to as "The North Wall".

On July 3, 2011 the 16th anniversary of "The North Wall", a ceremony was conducted. The activities were officiated by the "North Wall Riders' Association". The 126 names carved into the monument were honored and sadly to say a memorial marker was placed in memory of Ed Johnson. He died on August 24, 2010. Ed was a loving husband, a good friend, a decorated warrior and was referred to as "The Father of The North Wall". He will be missed but never forgotten.
