Veterans at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital: Each year at Christmas, our Chapter joins with VVA Chapter 310 to visit patients at our local VA Hospital. In addition to handing out sweat-shirts, socks, and other appropriate items, we visit as many patients as we can. Also, one of our members goes room-to-room to serenade patients with his unique and enjoyable accordion music.
Once again many of our VVA and AVVA Members met with VVA Chapter 310 and Rolling Thunder to help bring Christmas cheer to more than one hundred Vets at Ann Arbor's VA Hospital. Miss Michigan 1993, Stacey Mason - violinist and singer, (Emily McConnell) Miss Washtenaw County 2010, and Miss Michigan 2010 (Katie Lynn RaRoche) were also visiting the Vets. Our own Tom Brown plays a duet with Stacey as they go to each room playing Christmas Songs as well as dozens of personal requests. Below are two videos of Stacey and Tom playing The Godfather's Theme to one Rodney Tanner - a member of Chapter 528 who is recovering at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor and playing "Crazy" song written by Willie Nelson and made famous by Patsy Cline.
